WolfMail · Last updated: October 21, 2026
WolfMail is a free email and calendar app for iPhone, iPad and Mac. It lets you read and send email from your existing Gmail, Outlook and IMAP accounts in one place. It is a personal project: it has no ads, no subscriptions, no in-app purchases and accepts no payments of any kind.
WolfMail does not collect, track, or sell your data. The developer has no access to your email, your calendar or your credentials.
What WolfMail accesses
- Your email accounts, only after you sign in and grant permission. For Gmail, WolfMail requests the scopes gmail.modify (read your messages and change their state: mark as read or unread, archive) and gmail.send (send email on your behalf). For Microsoft accounts it requests Mail.ReadWrite, Mail.Send, User.Read and offline_access. For IMAP accounts it uses the server, username and password (or app password) you provide. WolfMail has no function to permanently delete email.
- Calendar, Reminders and Photos on your device, only if you allow it: to show your events and tasks, to create, edit or delete a calendar event only when you ask, to build the optional lock-screen wallpaper and to save that image to your photo library.
How your data is used
Only to provide the features you see in the app: showing your mail and calendar, sending messages you write, marking messages as read, archiving, and local reminders and notifications. WolfMail does not use your data for advertising, profiling or analytics, and does not sell or share it.
Where your data is stored
On your device only. WolfMail has no servers of its own: your device talks directly to Google, Microsoft or your IMAP/SMTP server. A local cache of recent messages (the last 30 days) is kept in the app's storage. Your sign-in credentials are kept in the system Keychain and never leave your device except to authenticate with your provider. Notifications are generated locally. WolfMail has no analytics, no crash reporting, no ads and no third-party SDKs.
Remote images in HTML emails are blocked by default. If you choose to load them, your device requests them from the sender's servers, as in any email app.
Google API Services User Data Policy
WolfMail's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular, WolfMail:
- uses Google user data only to provide and improve the user-facing features described above;
- does not transfer Google user data to anyone, except as needed to provide those features, to comply with law, or as part of a merger or sale with your notice (no such transfer exists today, since the data never leaves your device);
- does not use Google user data for serving advertisements;
- does not allow humans to read Google user data, because the developer has no access to it.
Retention and deletion
Cached messages older than 30 days are removed automatically. Removing an account in the app's settings deletes that account's cached messages and its stored credentials from the device. Deleting the app removes all remaining local data. You can also revoke WolfMail's access at any time in your Google Account (myaccount.google.com/permissions) or in your Microsoft account's app permissions.
Children
WolfMail is not directed to children under 13.
